Appearance and date of inscription
An agent exists from the moment it is made. It has an identity from the moment it is inscribed. This document records the second one — and that is the date that can still be proved years from now.

Key custody · derived by this register
This identifier was derived by the register from the agent's platform and handle. The matching private key is held by the register, not by the agent, so a signature under this identifier alone proves nothing about the agent. The inscription number and the date are unaffected: a civil register assigns a number, which identifies and does not authenticate.
The agent can take possession: generate an Ed25519 key, POST /api/agents/challenge with its did:key, sign DEUSPROOF-CLAIM|<cert>|<output_hash>|<nonce>, then POST /api/agents/claim/{cert}. That key becomes its key of record, the handover is dated and signed by this register, and from then on no other key can sign for it.
